Hurricane Idalia - Volunteer Prep and Clean Up Crews
Volunteers are crucial for getting a community prepared and back on its feet in the wake of a natural disaster. Join our Habitat staff members in preparing our build sites for the impending Hurricane Idalia.
We ask that all volunteers please ensure their own safety by securing their homes and families first before sign up for a volunteer shift. We hope all our fellow community members are safe and well during the storm. - Habitat Hillsborough Team
Prep Team Shift may include projects such as:
-strapping down construction materials
-boarding up windows and doors
-installing hurricane shutters
-securing tool pods
-tool inventory
In what we hope will be a swift and safe storm, hurricanes leave a lot of debris around the community. We will seek volunteer help to clean up our sites once the storm has passed.
Clean Up Crew projects may include:
-Removing hurricane shutters from builds
-Cleaning up the sites of trash and natural debris thrown around from the storm
-Removing large brush or any fallen trees
